So now your thinking, what's the difference?

Truthfully, not much, our dogs are family pets, but are also our show dogs.

So why have I added this page? Well its just to give you all a look at a world that many people don't see, nor understand.

Some puppies are sold as Show Quality and some as Pets, the show quality puppies have some better attributes than their siblings, and conform to the breed standard better, but this doesn't mean a pet puppy is just a pet puppy, many fine breed examples end up sold as "pet only" simply because they could have fully white feet, or too much white, or their ears may be too large or too small, or their tail set is wrong, or they just don't enjoy showing.

We show our dogs so we can see how the breed is going, how others are going within the breed, what needs to be improved etc, we are custodians and need to keep this breed as it has been for centuries, and we breed to better the breed for the future.

A show quality puppy may not turn out to be what we had envisioned, but we are conforming to a standard, not changing it, adhering to it, and we strive to breed quality. You cant breed a whole litter of Show Quality puppies, but 4 out of 5 is an achievement, and this is the aim, better dogs for the breeds future.

And the dogs love their weekends away, as we do, its a bonding thing as well as a great competition and hobby.
